Android 4.4.3 Kitkat to Debut soon; New features Leaked!

Android users might be in for a real treat soon. Google is planning to release the 4.4.3 Kitkat update very soon now. It was just 6 months ago that Google introduced the world to android 4.4 Kitkat. Since then, they have already released two updates, ie  4.4.1 and 4.4.2, to polish user experience.

So what can we expect from this new update? It is interesting to note that the update comes in light of recent allegations of compromised security on android devices, so we can expect Google to strengthen Android’s security fortress. Not only this, but the update is also expected to correct battery drain and improve camera performance overall.  That would mean this is more of an incremental upgrade than a major one. That being said, we do appreciate Google’s continued efforts to improve on the already excellent operating system.

According to Android Police, a Nexus 5 running Kitkat 4.4.3 has already been spotted running tests. That would mean we wouldn’t have to wait too long for the update to make its official debut. As per unconfirmed reports, the following bug fixes and improvements can be expected from the new version. (Take it with a pinch of salt, as the final version may not incorporate all of the features)

  • Frequent data connection dropout fix
  • mm-qcamera-daemon crash and optimization fixes
  • Camera focus in regular and HDR modes fixes
  • Power Manager display wakelock fix
  • Multiple Bluetooth fixes
  • Fix for a random reboot
  • App shortcuts even taken out of launcher after update
  • USB debugging security fix
  • App shortcuts security fix
  • Wi-Fi auto-connect fix
