Plan Your Schedule With Google Events Feature

Some people say that their workload is high and it is destroying their social life. Some people claim to be having equal workload and enjoy social life, saying that time management and advance planning of schedules helps them to maintain balance between social life and professional life.

Now Google is set to help users to plan their schedule with a new feature.

Google‘s remedy to ease the busy life of users

The new feature being called as Google events, announced by Google recently, will have a user-friendly interface. It will enable users to discover, promote and attend different events as per their interests.

Many see this new update as Google‘s answer to Facebook Events.

Statement issued by Google Product Manager Nishant Ranka says:

To try it, type in a quick search like, “jazz concerts in Austin,” or “art events this weekend” on your phone. With a single tap, you’ll see at-a-glance details about various options, like the event title, date and time, and location. You can tap “more events” to see additional options. Once you find one that’s up your alley, tap it to find more details or buy tickets directly from the website.

Key features of Google Events

With the new update, the event results include filters that would allow users to drill down by dates or look for specific events happening “today,” “tomorrow” or “next week.”

How Google Events benefits users?

The new update allows users to search the events of their choice on Google mobile search app. The functionality of displaying summary of events from popular websites like EventsHigh and BookMyShow is available in the new update.

The purpose of concise summary featured in each listing is to offer key details with just a click on title. With one click, user will see the event date, time, venue and the ticket prices if they are available. Tapping on an event listing, users can open the website offering information or tickets.

Google has also released developer guidelines. These guidelines are meant to help developers to format their event listings in a user friendly way. More user friendly a listing is, more would be its visibility to users who would find it while browsing through the app, looking for activities and events.

Using the new update, what kind of event would you plan to attend, using Google Events? What are your expectations with Google Events? Post your comments.
